Didn’t draw for sheep? There’s another chance

In bighorn sheep raffle

Hunters who didn't draw have another chance to hunt bighorn sheep in Idaho in 2009.

Those hunters who were unsuccessful in Idaho's bighorn sheep controlled permit drawing can purchase Idaho 2009 bighorn sheep raffle tickets through the Idaho chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation.

Each year the Wild Sheep Foundation markets one bighorn sheep raffle tag for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Proceeds from the bighorn sheep raffle are used by F&G for the benefit and enhancement of bighorn sheep.

Hunters can purchase raffle chances on the non-profit Wild Sheep Foundation Web site idahowildsheep.org.

This year's drawing is at 2 pm MDT, Wednesday, July 29. The winner is able to hunt in any unit open to sheep hunting for Rocky Mountain or California bighorn in 2009, pursuant to Fish & Game regulations—except Unit 11, Hells Canyon of the Snake River. Unit 11 is only available to the lottery winner on alternating years.

Applicants must be 18 to purchase a ticket and 18 years of age to win the sheep permit. The once-in-a-lifetime rule is waived for this raffle tag. Call 208-321-2389 for more details.
