Hailey City Council members Don Keirn and Martha Burke will run for re-election this fall, the two incumbents confirmed this week.
Burke, who ran unopposed in 2005, will be seeking her fifth consecutive term on the council. Keirn, who also ran unopposed in 2005, will be seeking his fourth term on the city's four-member legislative body.
Both Burke and Keirn have been involved in the long-running discussion of the proposed Quigley Canyon development, pushing for wildlife protections in the upper canyon east of the city.
The longtime council members have also both questioned the worthiness and validity of various marijuana legalization initiatives that came before voters in their city in recent years.
So far, no challengers have announced they will run against Keirn or Burke in the November city election.
