Whiskey's picks Sawtooth Construction

By DELLA SENTILLES
Express Staff Writer

Whiskey Jacques is one step closer to opening its doors.

Owner Karen Martin said she has chosen Sawtooth Construction to complete the building.

Sawtooth Construction is a family-run business that was founded in 1973. It works on both commercial and residential projects from custom homes to banks.

Martin said the company was chosen in part due to its previous success with time management.

"We have a time frame that we need to deal with and thought they were more likely to be able to complete it in a timely fashion," Martin said.

Martin said a number of construction companies contacted her, eight to ten of which were asked to submit proposals. Of those eight to ten, four were interviewed before Sawtooth Construction was chosen.

Martin would not reveal how much the company bid.

Preston Ziegler, owner and president of Sawtooth Construction, said the company plans to start excavation sometime next week with hopes to open Whiskey Jacques by December 15, 2009.
