New pizza restaurant set to open

Hailey's Wiseguy Pizza Pie expanding into Ketchum

Wiseguy Pizza Pie, a Hailey-based pizza restaurant, is set to open its doors in Ketchum.

Business owner Erik Heiden plans to open the new restaurant in The Station Building on Sun Valley Road adjacent to F-Stop camera and video store and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It will provide dine-in, take-out and delivery to north valley residents.

The existing restaurant in Bullion Square in Hailey serves New York-style (thin-crust) pizza as well as other menu items. It also has 12 beers on tap.

The expansion may come as a surprise due to the current economic climate, which has caused many businesses to struggle.

"We've been weathering the recession fairly well, given our pizza is more affordable than other dining options," Heiden said in a prepared statement. "We have a good deal of customers who come down valley to have our pizza regularly, so it seems like an ideal time to expand to Ketchum."

Wiseguy Pizza Pie plans to open this Friday, May 29.
