Scott H. Biram will bring his amped-up solo Delta blues show to Sun Valley's Boiler Room this evening for a one-date performance in the valley. On tour from Austin, Texas, Biram plays alluring and intense alternative country music, influenced by Minor Threat, Slayer, Bill Monroe and Mississippi Fred McDowell.

Biram will play several cuts from his latest album, "Something's Wrong/Lost Forever," including "Time Flies," "Still Drunk, Still Crazy, Still Blue" and "Judgment Day." Biram is no frills, lots of soul and does not sugarcoat his music or lyrics. He is a guitar player with a country heart and at times has an experimental heavy metal edge. His shows have been called sermons but his rant is worthwhile and even better with a beer. Tickets are $5. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.

Other live music around town will take place at Grumpy's on Sunday, May 31. The Damphools will be playing for Grumpy's 31st anniversary at 2 p.m. The Damphools have been in the studio recording and hope to release their first CD in June. In addition, they will play at the Sun Valley Brewery in Hailey on Thursday, May 30, at 6:30 p.m. and will head to Stanley to play at the Casino on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30.

The Silver Dollar in Bellevue will feature Deaf Dog on Friday, May 29, at 9 p.m. Papa Hemi's Hideaway will continue its live music series with Art "Bigwood" Wallace this evening from 6-9 p.m. and will feature Loose Change on Friday, May 29, and FourStroke Bus on Saturday, May 30. Both shows are from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

For a complete listing of music events in the valley, see the Music, Dance and Theater section of the Calendar on Page C5.
