Bates, Guthrie for board

I care deeply about public education and recently spent four years on the Blaine County Education Foundation. For two of those years, I served as president.

This is an opportunity for the public to make important changes that will affect the quality of our schools and the vitality of our valley for years to come. I believe that there are two strong candidates running in this election: Paul Bates (Zone 4) and Steve Guthrie (Zone 2) and I urge voters to support them.

As we are all aware, a significant portion of our tax dollars go to funding our school district. In return for our financial support of our schools, we deserve the following: real public input, accountability and transparency, and a great curriculum.

Paul Bates and Steve Guthrie understand and are genuinely committed to these issues. They also understand the need to make spending "in" the classroom a greater priority.
