Guthrie’s a listener

The time is right for a change in the makeup of the Blaine County School Board. The current members up for re-election have had their opportunity and now it's time for them to step aside and let the parents and teachers become involved in the education process of their children and students.

Steve Guthrie believes teachers and parents should have more say in this process. I am writing this letter in support of my friend and neighbor Steve "Gup" Guthrie, whom I have known for almost 25 years. Over the years we have had many a discussion about the trials and tribulations of our kids as they try to navigate their way through our school system. Our family has two kids in the dual immersion program, and I would like to see someone on the board who feels as strongly about the benefits of the program as I do. Steve has and will always have an open ear when it comes to discussing kids and our school system. Our teachers need to be heard, and I know that Steve wants to make that happen. We, parents and teachers, need to have a better voice in formulating policy for our schools. Steve will be a good listener, then make good choices for all of us.

Join me in casting your vote for Steve Guthrie on May 19. It's time for some new ideas and a new voice for taxpayers, teachers, parents and, most of all, our kids.
