The Footlight Dance Centre celebrates 25 years, and to continue its spirit of inspiring youth to dance the troupe will present a student performance of "Peter Pan."

Hilarie Neely, artistic director and founder of the Footlight Dance Centre, has created a version of J.M. Barrie's classic tale of never-ending youth through many dance forms that include ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop and tap.

Footlight graduating seniors Hanna Curran, who is Peter Pan, and Modora Ooms, who is Wendy, have been dancing with Neely since they were 4. Other leads include seniors Lauren Prentice, Faith Coben and Rika Pere, who also have been dancing with Footlight since they were 4.

Company dancers include Dylan Peterson, Alex Haupt, Brita Gaeddert, Ingrid Peterson, Tori Poole, Mariah Davis and Dakota Barnes in character roles. One hundred and sixty young dancers are included in this production of "Peter Pan."

Instructors Kassidy Brice, Shellrae Garnes, Julie Fox-Jones, Michele Minailo, Kate Weihe and Anne Winton contributed to additional choreography for "Peter Pan," which will take place at the Community Campus in Hailey on Saturday, May 9, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 10, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and available at Chapter One Bookstore, Ketchum and The Toy Store in Hailey. The Footlight Dance Centre performances do sell out and buying tickets ahead is encouraged. For details, call 788-3481, ext. 6.
