First Bank helped us

When I moved here, First Bank of Idaho made the loan on my house and extended my company a line of credit that helped us greatly. We went on to do more business with First Bank of Idaho over the years, and it was a great relationship—they bent over backward to help me, coming up with creative and responsible ways for us to meet our financial goals, and we did our part by paying them back and encouraging others to do business with them. First Bank strove to build a profitable business that also helped to build our community and strengthen our nonprofits.

It is so unfortunate that the bank was brought down by the broader financial turmoil, which has forced the government and its agencies to pick winners and losers quickly and without transparency and fairness.

I will miss First Bank of Idaho—its people, its mission, its hometown ethos—and extend my sympathy to all those affected by its sudden closure.
