Quite a performance for U-14 girls

Win Boise tournament in OT

Through rain, wind and lightning, the Wood River U-14 girls’ youth soccer team rose to the occasion during the Performance Cup Tournament in Boise Sunday, May 3. Sheer joy was the tone when the Wood River girls coached by Ken Morrell claimed victory over Nevada Net Rippers in a 1-0 double overtime win. Miranda Gasenica, assisted by Allison Gasenica, scored the only goal in the final game. A total team effort set the tone for the weekend. Scoring goals were Darby Robertson (4), Haley Montgomery and Jordan Fitzgerald. Posing here are, back row from left, coach Ken Morrell, Maria Carpenter, Kimi Strong, Riley Kilmartin-Schmidt, Montana Tucker, Darby Robertson, Hannah Blume, Haley Cooper, Mateja Heinrich and Jordan Fitzgerald.
