The Sun Valley Center for the Arts Summer has announced its 2009 summer concert series line-up. This summer's outdoor concerts include Alex Cuba on Friday, June 19, at The Center in Hailey, Salsa Celtica on Saturday, July 18, at Hop Porter Park in Hailey and Donavon Frankenreiter and Mishka on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Atkinson Park in Ketchum. Tickets go on sale online Friday, May 1.

"One of my favorite parts about this line-up is that not only are we bringing performers that are up and coming, and maybe a little under the radar, but we've made sure that these shows are as affordable as possible," said The Center's artistic director, Kristin Poole. "The Center is committed to bringing the community together through the arts and these concerts are a perfect example of that. We're also putting together packages that will save some cash, and make it easy to check off 'summer concerts' on your summer to-do list."

Individual ticket prices are $10 adults and $5 kids 12 and under for Alex Cuba, $20 adults and $5 kids 12 and under for Salsa Celtica, $30 adults and $10 kids 12 and under for Donavon Frankenreiter and Mishka.

For the Saturday, Aug. 15, Donavon Frankenreiter and Mishka show at Atkinson Park, patrons have the option of paying extra for a VIP ticket for $100 that guarantees them early access, valet parking and two drink tickets per person.

Ticket packages are available for all three summer concerts and The Center is offering ticket packages that combine concerts with the Sun Valley Wine Auction events.

"If these acts have anything in common, it's that they all subvert traditional expectations of what Cuban music is, or what Scottish music is, or reggae," said The Center's marketing director, Kristine Bretall. "And also despite their differences, they all play very fun, positive, upbeat music. You may have heard some of these performers and not even known it, but after you hear them, you'll be demanding a CD of your own. I think this is one of the best lineups we've ever had for fantastic music."

Tickets are available by visiting sunvalleycenter.org or by calling 726-9491, ext. 10, or at The Center, 191 Fifth St. in Ketchum.
