Spring has official arrived when the little white balls start flying through the air throughout the Wood River Valley.

The Bigwood Golf Course in Ketchum opened for the summer on Thursday, with hours of operation during early season running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

When peak season rates kick in on June 15, anyone with a Blaine County driver's license will receive a discount on both single rounds and season passes.

As well, the Bigwood Grill, featuring the popular Bob Dunn, former chef at the Warm Springs Ranch Restaurant, will open at the end of May.

In Sun Valley, the golf season is set to open on Friday with early season rates in place. Members of the public wishing to play one of the resort's two courses should book a tee time two weeks in advance.

To the south, the Valley Club north of Hailey opened on Monday for club members only.
