Ketchum's triumphant day

Oh, the excitement and the thrills. We are now only weeks from a day, annexation day, when Ketchum liberates and obliterates Sun Valley. What a glorious day awaits!

A huge train of open cars of Ketchum officials will enter and tour Sun Valley's roads, roadsides filled with mobs cheering, saluting and tossing flowers. In the entourage will be a heavily armored Popemobile in which a beaming Dave Chase will wave benedictions, graces and blessings to the adoring crowds. Wagon Days will be shamed forever.

A massive rally with banners and bands and searchlights will fill the bowls at Ketchum's Dollar Mountain and lodge. Fealty will swell from the masses as mounds of food and libations sate their stomachs and numb their minds, all fueled from the bottoming coffers that once held Sun Valley's wealth. In all the distraction, the officials of Sun Valley and the glory that once was Sun Valley will hightail it over Trail Creek Summit to purgatory and the dustbins of history.

In future years, archivists will marvel what a simple $2 million savings had wrought.

For the glory that awaits us, go and vote, and vote often.
