A full day of wet mountain weather cost the Wood River High School baseball team its scheduled home doubleheader against the Blackfoot Broncos Friday. And that meant there are only 10 games left for coach Matt Nelson's Wolverines.
Wood River (4-8, 2-2 home, 0-2 league) was scheduled to host the Jerome Tigers (7-5, 1-1) on Tuesday at Hailey's Founders Field, and then finish its home-and-home with host Jerome today, Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
The Wolverines have dropped three straight by a combined score of 35-1 and were looking to right the ship. Jerome divided a doubleheader at Mountain Home Saturday, winning the nightcap 4-0 on Logan Parker's five-hitter.
Wood River is due to host Preston Saturday, April 18 for an 11 a.m. doubleheader at Founders Field, and then have Burley (6-14, 1-1) at home Tuesday, April 21 at 4:30 p.m. The second Wood River-Burley match-up has been changed to Thursday, April 23 at Burley.
League-leading Minico (8-9, 2-0 before Monday's visit to Mountain Home) was due to host Burley Tuesday.
