Egg hunts, religious services scheduled for weekend

It's Easter—and it's time to find plastic eggs filled with jellybeans and colorful chocolates.

This year, Wood River Valley families have a plethora of egg-hunting options throughout the valley and beyond. Some egg hunts are scheduled after religious services on Sunday.

Grab a basket and head to the Hagerman annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11, where kids up to 12 years old can look for more than 4,000 hidden Easter eggs. The hunt features cash prizes and candy. It is broken into several age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. The hunt begins at 10 a.m. and is located in Hagerman City Park. The Mountain School in Bellevue has planned an open house, Easter Magic, on Saturday, April 11, for parents and children. Kids have an opportunity to make felt Easter eggs and enjoy the school's baby animal zoo. The open house—for families new to the school—will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For details, call 788-3170.

Other Saturday, April 11, egg hunts include the Valley of Peace Lutheran Church Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. in Hailey. For details, call 788-3066. In addition, the Teddy Bear Corner Preschool Easter Egg Hunt in Hailey will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For details and pre-registration, call 788-1955. Also, the Wood River Community YMCA in Ketchum will coordinate a hunt at 10 a.m. for children 1 to 8 years old. For details, call 727-9622. Don't miss The Toy Store in Ketchum's Golden Egg hunt on Saturday, April 11. Participants can win a $25 store gift certificate. For details, call 726-5966.

Easter Sunday, April 12, egg hunting will begin at 10:30 a.m. after the morning church service at Light on the Mountains spiritual center, off state Highway 75 south of Ketchum. For details, call 727-1631. At the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hailey, the hunt begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, after the Holy Eucharist at 8 a.m. and Potluck Brunch at 9 a.m. For details, call 788-3547.

Other hunts taking place on Easter Sunday include the one at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood in Ketchum after the 10:30 a.m. service. The hunt is indoors. For details, call 726-5123. In addition St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Ketchum will have music and an Easter egg hunt during the 10 a.m. service. For details, call 726-5349.
