Become a fan of Ketch'em Alive!

The Ketch'em Alive free weekly summer concert series in Ketchum is seeking members to be part of the Ketch'em Alive! Fan Club. A $100 contribution is tax-deductible and members will receive recognition as well as the community's appreciation for supporting Ketch'em Alive!

Checks should be made payable to Ketch'em Alive! and can be mailed to the Sun Valley-Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau, Box 2420, Sun Valley, ID 83340 or can be dropped off at the new Visitor Center in Ketchum at 491 Sun Valley Rd., across the street from F-Stop. The 2009 Sun Valley Wellness Festival, "Harmony in the Midst of Transition," will take place May 22-25. Featured speakers are Dr. Michael Beckwith and Dr. Robert Thurman, and featured performer will be Grammy-nominated artist Toni Childs in concert at the Sun Valley Pavilion. The Sun Valley Food and Wine Festival will take place June 12-14 and will feature two full days of chef demonstrations and vintner dinners. Guest chefs include John Tesar, Vitaly Paley, Kimberly Paley, Cory Schreiber and Julie Richardson. In addition, Viking chefs Vaughn Hobbs and John Turenne will be attending the festival, as will be Northwest Palate magazine's co-publisher and wine editor, Cole Danehower. Wood River Valley chefs participating in the festival include CK's Chris Kastner; Cristina's Restaurant's Cristina Ceccatelli and Patrick Jam; il Naso's executive chef, Doug Jensen; Ketchum Grill's Scott Mason; Knob Hill Inn Restaurant Chef de Cuisine Michael Zentner; Riccabona's Brent Rasmussen; and Sun Valley Lodge Dining Room's executive chef, Scott Wamsley. The Sun Valley Center Wine Auction will take place July 23-25. Tickets for the Wine Auction Picnic and Tasting can be purchased at sunvalleycenter.org.

The Sun Valley Opera and the Sun Valley Resort will present Tenors and Strings Extravaganza at the Sun Valley Pavilion on Sunday, June 28. Tickets will be on sale April 10 and range from $25 to $2,000. The concert is the world premiere of the three international tenors, Dennis McNeil, Jorge Lopez-Yanez and Jose Medina with the Hutchins Consort. The 2009 Sun Valley Summer Symphony benefit evening, Some Enchanted Evening, will take place Sunday, Aug. 2, with Tony Award winners Victoria Clark and Paulo Szot, guest conductor Ted Sperling and the Sun Valley Summer Symphony. South Sea Islands cocktails and hors d' oeuvres at 4 p.m. and concert at 6 p.m. For details, call 622-5607.

The 13th annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival will take place Oct. 9-11. This year the festival will feature expanded lamb tasting with chefs from Cristina's, Cks's and several other valley chefs. In addition the festival will feature the Wonders of Wool with workshops, sponsors and businesses in support of the International Year of the Natural Fiber. Local businesses, knitters, weavers and spinners are invited to participate. For details, call 720-0585.
