Despite budget challenges, Company of Fools has announced a 14th season full of entertaining theater.

The company will present its Summer Fools Festival, a rotating repertoire theater of three plays this season.

"110 in the Shade" by N. Richard Nash, Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt will be staged July 4 through Aug. 1. John Glenn will direct the production with musical direction by R.L. Rowsey.

The festival will also include "Welcome Home Jenny Sutter" by Julie Marie Myatt, July 4 through Aug. 2 and will be directed by Joel Vilinsky. The third production for the festival will be "Steel Magnolias" by Robert Perigard, July 4 through Aug. 2, directed by Steve Perigard.

"We cut 13 percent of our budget," said Company of Fools core company artist R.L. Rowsey. "But we made a commitment to work very hard and not sacrifice the quantity or quality of work."

The company will also present several classes in July. Creative JUMP-Ins! will be one-time, two-hour classes for $20 taught by company members and national guest artists. In addition, the company will continue its ACT II, a series of acting and voice classes for adults 55 and over, throughout July.

Company of Fools will perform "The Syringa Tree" by Pamela Gien from Oct. 21 through Nov. 8. The play will be directed by John Glenn.

Returning for another season will be "A Year with Frog and Toad" by Willie and Robert Reale, based on the books by Arnold Lobel, Dec. 17 through Jan. 3. It will be directed John Glenn with musical direction by R.L. Rowsey.

"This year 'Frog and Toad' for the first time will go on the road for school children in the Magic Valley," Rawley said. "Three thousand to 4,000 kids may get to see it."

Presenting an American classic, the company will perform "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams from Feb. 24 through March 14. It will be directed by Denise Simone.

"We worked really hard this season for stories about the community," Rowsey said. "It's important to look to the community. Interfacing with the community is our first commitment because it embraces and supports us so well."
