Snowbird slaloms give skiers a last chance

28 from SVSEF on Wilbere Race Hill

Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation racer Bergen Palmer wrapped up a promising season of slalom with two J2 (ages 15-16) bronze medals at the Last Chance slalom races Sunday and Monday on Snowbird's Wilbere Race Hill.

Palmer, 16, finished ninth and seventh out of 119 men running gates in the USSA Intermountain Division finale. First-year J2 Tanner Farrow, 15, placed 13th overall and the fifth J2 Sunday. J3 (ages 13-14) KJ Savaria took the bronze Monday in 20th overall.

J3s Nicole Roos and Teagen Palmer continued their season-long assaults on the top 10.

Teagen Palmer captured the J3 gold with a fifth place out of 73 women Sunday and was sixth Monday, the third J3. Roos won the J3 slalom Monday in fourth place, and was sixth overall with the J3 silver Sunday. J1 Bailey Ireland and J2 Nina Hirner also cracked the top 10 at Last Chance.
