Airport ebb and flow

Concerning the Friedman Memorial Airport, a friend of mine pointed out that the more things change, the more they stay the same around here. After watching the political ebb and flow for over 30 years, we agreed that if you want something accomplished in this valley, inflate your support base. Make it appear that you have a whole lot more backing than you could ever hope to have.

Keep in mind that it would take only one roller to create the Friedman Airport Users Alliance. And yes, it will draw others who like the convenience of Friedman's current location, most of whom do not deal with the direct impact of it and could care less about the families that do.

However, when it comes down to brass tacks, I think the illogic of expanding the current site (more bigger, faster high-performance jets flying into terrain shaped like a shoebox) and the fact that there are other viable sites available (that could actually accommodate reliable air service) will give those who are truly impacted by the current airport location the pluck to stand up when need be.
