No need for Quigley

The need for the Quigley annexation and housing and golf course out Quigley canyon is absolutely ridiculous. First of all, it takes approximately two million gallons of water per day to water an 18 hole course in the desert. Each of the sprayers puts out 45-50 gallons of water per minute, with 100 percent overlap. Secondly, it takes a population of 1,000 people per hole to make a golf course profitable.

Golf, in popularity is in decline. With Cutters having sold almost none of its lots, and the disaster called Sweetwater, I find it outrageous for one to think that an upper end housing project could succeed. Additionally the Hailey infrastructure is overloaded and the Idaho power supply is woefully over-stressed. Until the current subdivisions and vacant existing city lots and houses for sale are all or close to being fully occupied, it is absolutely rediculous to even entertain a project at Quigley canyon.
