Disturbance erupts at Albertsons

Hailey police are investigating a child custody dispute that may have turned physical early Sunday evening in the parking lot at Albertsons grocery store in north Hailey.

Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter said the dispute involved two couples that had apparently met in the parking lot around 6 p.m. for a child visitation exchange.

"Everybody wants to press charges against everybody else," Gunter said. "The two females are alleging that the two females hit each other and the two men are alleging that the two men hit each other.

"There were no serious injuries and no arrests. It was basically just a he-said, she-said thing."

The chief said investigators are in the process of procuring a copy of a store video shot in the parking lot at the time of the dispute.

"We'll review the video to see who instigated what," Gunter said.

At least three police vehicles responded to the disturbance.
