March 21, 2009, the annual Bald Mountain Snowshoe/Ski Challenge sponsored by The Elephant's Perch of Ketchum. The 3,000 vertical foot climb started from the base of River Run, went up Lower River Run to Hershey Highway, across to Lower College, up Lower College and Upper College to the finish at Lookout Restaurant located on the 9,100-foot summit of Bald Mountain. There were 44 finishers. Time improvements compared to last year were Jennett Zimmerman 10:41, Roger Mankus 4:36 and Jim Bradford 0:50.
