Williams Market site has uncertain future

Owner of building considers leasing, redeveloping

Express Staff Writer

The future of the former Williams Market building, located at the corner of Main and First streets in Ketchum, remains unknown, as the owner continues to look for tenants or an economic situation more conducive to development.

Ketchum-based developer Dave Hutchinson, owner of the building, said he has put a sign on the property announcing it as a future development site to facilitate inquiries. He said that prior to erecting the sign, interested parties were unaware of the status of the property or who owned it.

Hutchinson said the building is not for sale, but that he has had conversations with people interested in using the space for "everything from another grocery store to a bar." He said he could tear down the structure to redevelop the lot.

Williams Market closed in September 2005 and has remained vacant since.
