Youth join adults for city bowling tournament

Team Weems a winner at Mountain Sun Lanes


For the first time, young bowlers joined adults in participating in the Wood River Women's and Open city tournament at Bellevue's Mountain Sun Lanes from Feb. 24-March 1.

Mahoney's of Bellevue donated a $100 scholarship, which went to the first-place finisher in this year's youth tournament. That was Colten Weatherly. Second place was Reilly Neel and third place went to Spencer Neel.

Team Weems with Erik Bywater, Rosie Soto, Mike Weems and Mike Tackett captured the Open Team Event with 2833 pins. Bywater and Weems were the doubles winners, Elisa Tobia took Open Singles and All Events Handicap, and Bywater is All Events Scratch champ.

Balls of Fur with Sara Burns, Sarah Kolash, Amanda Larese and Tobia earned the Women's Team Event title. Kelly Cole and Burns were doubles winners and Patti Duke took singles. All Events champs were Erica Valentine handicap, Jolene Stone scratch.
