Gail Nolan

Gail Nolan, 69, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at her home in Ketchum.

For 15 months she put up a gallant battle against stomach cancer.

She was born in Los Angeles, Calif., in 1939 and is survived by her husband, Herb. After their marriage in 1992 in Laguna Beach, Calif., they built their present home in Hulen Meadows in Ketchum, where they lived happily for the past 17 years.

Among the many interests in her full life were sailing, skiing, hiking, camping, golf, water aerobics, pottery at Boulder Mountain Clayworks and gardening. During the summer she maintained a beautiful flowerbed. Besides her many activities, she was a wonderful homemaker and wife.

Gail was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood. She was known as the "Donut Lady." At the end of the Sunday services, she would cheerfully volunteer to serve coffee and donuts to the congregation. She was also active in the church's bible study group.

A celebration of Gail's life will be held at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood in Ketchum at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7. All of her many friends are invited.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be given to Hospice of the Wood River Valley, Box 4320, Ketchum, ID 83340. Hospice is a wonderful organization and was so caring, attentive and comforting to Gail in her last days.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Wood River Chapel, Hailey.
