High school reunion is Janss Classic theme

Weisel Partners the title sponsor

Anybody who's ever been to a high school reunion knows how weird and fabulously funny it can be.

The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation is hoping "High School Reunion" is the right theme for the right time in the winter of 2009.

"High School Reunion" is the theme of the Janss Pro-Am Classic Fundraiser March 5-7. Skiers and snowboarders are teamed with former Olympians, Pro Tour and World Cup ski racers for three days of racing and social events.

Title sponsor this year is Thomas Weisel Partners.

And event registration is currently being accepted. You may take part in the 12th annual Janss Pro Am Classic as title sponsor, corporate sponsor, team sponsor (invite valued and potential clients and/or employees to be on your team) or as an individual racer.

All abilities are encouraged. Racers are handicapped and everyone has a fair chance to win. Each Pro-Am Team has four amateurs and one pro.

"High School Reunion" theme ideas include sports teams (football, soccer, wrestling, etc), school clubs (marching band, 4H club, cheerleaders, etc.), social groups (cliques), teachers, graduating years (like Class of 1942 and Class of 1977) or high school themed movies like "Grease."

Given the creativity and fun spirit of Janss participants, organizers are expecting terrific rivalries and imaginative costumes topped off by a high school prom atmosphere at the March 7 awards banquet.

Named for Bill Janss, former owner of Sun Valley Co., the Janss Pro-Am raises money that helps support nearly 500 young athletes.
