Airport plans cost break for parking

Friedman looks to boost dipping revenues

Plunging revenues at Friedman Memorial Airport's passenger terminal parking area has prompted the governing board to approve a short-term "customer appreciation" promotion for March and April.

During those two months, passengers who park three or more days will receive the third day free. Daily parking is $7.50.

The proposal was initiated by Car Park president Jeff Wolfe, who reported to the airport authority on Tuesday, Feb. 3, that monthly revenues for the final quarter of 2008 had dropped between 25 percent and 33 percent each month compared to the same period in 2007.
