When the "The Joy of Cooking" comes alive at the Community Library's Our Moveable Feast, the Mistress of the Spices room will feature authentic Indian cuisine.

Along with Atkinsons' Market, which will donate food, featured chefs will include Sue and Brian Ahern of Full Moon Catering, whose favorite cookbooks are "Coyote Café" by Mark Miller and "The Book of Bread" by Bernard Clayton.

Other contributors to the India room will be owner Ken Sangha and Chef Vijay Kumar of La India in Hailey, and owner Wendy Muir and chef Tyler Stokes of Globus in Ketchum.

Mike Diem of East Avenue Bistro in Ketchum will make curried canapés and an Indian buttered chicken.

"It's two recipes combined, like a tandori chicken and then roasted with spices to give it the intense flavor of India," Diem said.

His favorite book remains the solid "Joy of Cooking" by Irma S. Rombauer and "Classic Indian Cooking" by Julie Sahni.

"It was lent to me by Cheryl Welch (of Chapter One) but I still have it," he said with a laugh.

All the chefs involved with the event donate not only their services but are encouraged to donate a copy of their favorite cookbook to the cook's corner in the silent auction.
