John C. Goldsmith, 77, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center in Ketchum, Idaho.
He was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Germantown, Pa.
John lived and worked in the Washington, D.C., area, where he courted and married Nancy Bader in 1968. Together they lived in Bethesda, Md., where John worked as an engineer with NASA, HUD and DOE. John was widowed in 1997, and later moved to Hailey, Idaho, to be with his step-daughter and her family. John enjoyed traveling with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his step-son, Andy Bader of Cottekill, N.Y. (wife Angela and children Brenton and Deena); step-daughter Amy Swanson of Hailey, Idaho (husband Robert and children Cheyenne, Zachary and Travis); brothers, George Goldsmith of Haverford, Pa. (wife Marion, children George and Vicky), and Richard Goldsmith of Kinnelon, Pa. (daughter Sara Pascoe of Bouremouth, England).
