Adaptive Sports fly high with vets

By DANA DUGAN
Express Staff Writer

Several wounded warriors arrived in the Wood River Valley this week to take on a variety of snow sport events. Sun Valley Adaptive Sports will guide the group through ski and snowboard lessons on Dollar Mountain in Sun Valley. They will also try nordic skiing, skating, snowshoeing, paragliding and a sleigh ride for dinner at the Trail Creek Cabin Yurt. As well they will head to Galena Lodge.

While they are here, they will be joined at various times by donors to the Ketchum-based program.

Sun Valley Adaptive Sports Executive Director Tom Iselin can usually be found right alongside the vets and their coaches.

Iselin said there are three main components for the health of wounded service members: recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration. Programs such as Sun Valley Adaptive Sports focuses on the final aspect of that journey.
