Join discussion on "Be the Change"

Basing her idea on Mahatma Ghandi's famous quote, "Be the change you want to see," Karen Day, a humanitarian journalist in Hailey, started the Be The Change project, which she calls a think-tank movement. The project includes a billboard campaign on Interstate 84 in southern Idaho and an interactive Web site.

A meeting is planned for anyone interested in the project on Monday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Wood River Community YMCA in Ketchum.

Day hopes people will log on to bethechangeyouwanttosee.net to write or blog about such issues as revitalizing the economy, ending the war in Iraq, providing health care for all, protecting the nation, renewing American global leadership, civil rights, defense, education, energy and the environment.

For more information, call 578-1177 or go to the project Web site.
