Wood River Valley equestrians received awards at the annual Idaho Hunter Jumper Association banquet Jan. 17. Riders competed in four IHJA-sanctioned events through the 2008 summer for overall points.
Among the special awards: Ali Levy with the "Jim Woodyard Memorial"; Lily Gillespie with "Rookie of the Year"; and Kim Koch with the "Winfield Award" from the Boise Saddle & Jump Club.
Here are the results, with rider name, trainer in parentheses and the awards given:
Ali Levy (trainer Lorraine Wilcox): Champion Level 2 Jumper and Children's 3-0 Jumper; and Reserve Champion Level 1 Jumper.
Kelsey Furlong (Lorraine Wilcox): Champion 2-6 Jumper; and Reserve Champion Equitation over Fences.
Suzanne Hausner (Teresa Englehart): Champion Hunt Seat Equitation 18-and-over; and Reserve Champion Low Hunter.
Emma Johnson (Lorraine Wilcox): Reserve Champion 2-0 Jumper and 2-3 Jumper.
Morgan Roudabush (Lorraine Wilcox): Reserve Champion Short Stirrup.
