It's live in Sun Valley

Boiler Room overflows

Sun Valley is turning up the heat in the Boiler Room, which features a new lounge atmosphere for an array of live entertainment throughout the week. For the winter months, the Boiler Room will present the stand-up comedy of the valley's own Mike Murphy, who takes the stage every Tuesday and Wednesday night through the winter. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the laughs start at 6 p.m. with a $10 cover.

Catch the high heels and high-camp, all-girl show of the Fabulous Vaurnettes every Thursday, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and shows at 6 p.m. There is a $15 cover with $3 off for an Idaho ID.

For this weekend, the 2009 Winter Comedy Series features the hilarious comedy of Harry Basil and John Moyer on Friday and Saturday evenings. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. There is a $10 cover with $3 off for a Sun Valley ski pass or lift ticket.

After the comedy show on Friday night, the Boiler Room welcomes "Frankly Elvis," a very entertaining Elvis impersonation act from Las Vegas. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and is $6. In addition, the Cosmic Beans, a tight rock 'n' roll cover band that performs the classics, will play on Saturday evening after the comedy show at 9 p.m. There is a $10 cover.

Finishing the weekend is the performance of Forever Plaid every Sunday in the Boiler Room. Tickets are $12. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Lodge Dining Room has opened its new lounge area for drinks and appetizers and will feature the Sun Valley Trio from Wednesday through Saturday, 5:30-9:30 p.m. The Lodge Dining Room also features Leana Leach for Sunday brunch, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In the Duchin Room don't miss the great jazz sounds of the Paul Tillotson Trio, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and the Joe Fos Trio 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Leana Leach Trio will play Sunday 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

And don't miss Brooks Hartell on piano performing in the Sun Valley Inn Lobby Bar, Monday through Saturday, 5-8 p.m.
