Winter Feast announces meditation sites

40-day event to begin Thursday

The second annual Winter Feast for the Soul, a nonprofit based in Hailey, will begin its 40-day meditation period at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, with a worldwide meditation to join participants around the world for the global opening.

The opening meditation will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Ketchum and Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hailey in their sanctuaries at 5:15 a.m. for group meditations.

Winter Feast for the Soul will present "Subtle Activism: Applying Spiritual Power for Social Change" with David Nicol, director of the Gaiafield Center for Subtle Activism at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. The talk and discussion will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the YMCA in Ketchum.

The closing meditation will be held 5:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Sun Valley.
