Spare me Parker

Please, dear editor, in the future spare us Kathleen Parker's pretentious and pointless editorials; she tries so hard to be clever it gives me a headache. Just a brief example; I quote: "I categorically denounce any person or statement (or calendar) that disparages or causes distress to any living creature on this planet or that serves to divide us from any other planet in this universe - or any other—and such creatures as, therein, may reside."

Please Kathleen, give us a break! First, there is really nothing wrong with repudiation; but 2008 is significant for something far more important than that; apparently you missed it.
