No take-out is worth it

To all of the residents of the Wood River Valley, Jim Funk and Desperados have been a very important part of this valley for over 25 years. Let's commend (not condemn) Jim for paving the way for all restaurants by reducing his carbon footprint by stopping to-go orders. Even though there are more environmentally correct answers to Styrofoam boxes, all still take energy and fuel to produce.

This is a very progressive and daring move, let alone not the wisest business choice for a restaurant owner, but Jim is passionate about what's important to him and all of us in the future. I know that many people in this valley have come to depend on to-go food from Desperados.

Let's remind ourselves why we live here. Isn't it for the laid-back lifestyle of a mountain town? Can't you take 30 minutes out of your busy day to leave your desk and dine in? Aren't protecting the environment and our natural resources reasons why we're so passionate about this area? I say hip, hip hooray to Despos and their amazing staff. In a crazy, fast-paced world let's take a minute to stop and smell the roses. Or burritos for that matter.
