Roger Schwartz, age 65, of Ketchum, died at home with his wife, Teri, at his side, on Monday, Dec. 22 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Seattle, grew up in Ballard, Wash., and graduated from Ballard High School. Roger lived in the Wood River Valley for over 30 years. He and Teri were married in Sun Valley in 1986.
Roger served in the Coast Guard Reserve and was active in the Ketchum American Legion. He was a noted fly-fishing guide for many years. For the past two years he joined the Webb Landscaping Family working as a supervisor.
Roger was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, skiing and hiking. He and Teri loved to travel.
Roger is survived by his wife, Teri; his stepson, Jeff Bodenstab; his sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Steven Shields; and his niece, Amy Hester.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Kathryn Schwartz, and his nephew, Michael Shields.
A memorial service will be held in February.
