CSI to hold career counseling workshops

The College of Southern Idaho Blaine County Center will hold a free, one-day, two-workshop career counseling day at the Community Campus in Hailey on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The morning workshop will help participants decide what kind of jobs might fit their talents and personalities. Participants will discuss job options in a small group with a facilitator, and then take several online inventories to help assess interests and possible job matches.

In the afternoon session, helpful tips will be provided about the job search process, how to prepare a resumé and how to deliver a strong interview.

People can register for one or both workshops. Advance registration is required. Call 788-2033 for more information or to make an appointment.

Hunters: File your harvest reports

All Idaho deer, elk and pronghorn hunters must complete and submit a report for each tag issued within 10 days of harvest or within 10 days of the close of the season for which the tag was valid, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game is reminding hunters.

According to the agency, the easiest way is to submit the hunter harvest report card online at www.fishandgame.idaho.gov. Once online, click on the "Hunter Report" icon near the center of the page. Hunters can also go to www.idaho-hunt.com and input their hunting license number and the first four letters of their last name.

Submitting online is the surest way to have hunt information included and the only way to get confirmation that the report was received. Reports also may be mailed to Idaho Fish and Game, Hunter Harvest Reports, Box 70007, Boise, ID 83707-0107 or called in to (877) 268-9365 or faxed to (775) 423-0799.

Hangmans closed for winter

Hailey officials have moved to close off the Hangmans Gulch area for the winter, a news release from the city states. The seasonal closure to benefit wintering wildlife came out of Hailey's approval of the Old Cutters subdivision in the northeast section of the city. Signs reading "Closed-Critical Wildlife Habitat" have been posted in the area to alert the public.

"Enforcement of seasonal closures depends on the honor system. If you see a sign that says closed, you should assume that it means everyone," said Becki Keefer, Hailey parks and trails project coordinator. "Closures need to be respected."

Hailey closures are also enacted to protect overused areas that have been reseeded and to protect recreationists from hazardous conditions.
