Kids, take a winter break adventure

Keep busy over the holidays

Wondering how to keep your kids busy during the Christmas school holiday? Be sure to check in with the Blaine County Recreation District.

Add excitement to the exciting season by attending the Winter Break Adventure Camp for Kids sponsored by Lallman, Feltman, Peterson and Pierce.

The full-day activities—on two days before Christmas and two days after—are open to youth in grades 1-5. Each activity is limited to 40 participants. Fee for each activity is $35 per child and $25 for each additional child. Financial assistance is available.

Parents must drop off children and pick them up at The Community Campus in Hailey. Supervised activities directed by a caring, professional staff last from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Here's the plan:

Monday, Dec. 22: Swimming at the Wood River Community YMCA. Bring a swimming suit, towel and lunch.

Tuesday, Dec. 23: Ice skating fun at Sun Valley and a holiday movie. You'll need clothing for outdoor play, lunch and skates if you have them.

Monday, Dec. 29: Snowshoeing at Galena Lodge 23 miles north of Ketchum. Again, bring clothing for outdoor play, a sack lunch and snowshoes if you have them.

Tuesday, Dec. 30: Tubing at Rotarun Ski Area west of Hailey. You'll need clothing for outdoor play, a sack lunch and a sled if you have one.
