Now I really know how much this town and valley depend on good old Uncle Earl. With not one run on Baldy open yet, we're all sitting here dying on the vine.
While almost all of the Colorado and some Utah resorts were buzzing with tourists over the Thanksgiving holiday, you could have shot the proverbial cannon down Main Street. Why? Because they all started making snow on cold nights in late September and all of October. They didn't wait until November and get busted by unseasonal warm temperatures.
Even if it was only Lower River Run, at least we could say we're open! How about the Greyhawk chair? Mid and Lower Warm Springs would work. They're in the shade all fall.
Come on, Uncle Earl. If you can spend $40 million on a symphony pavilion to be used a couple of months a year, why not cough up a few thousand to make snow in October and insure that all our beds and shops are full all winter?
