Jeremy Mylymok's #4 jersey is going into retirement on Saturday, Dec. 6 in Boise.

The Idaho Steelheads hockey club announced Monday, Dec. 1 that it will retire former defenseman Mylymok's jersey number during a first intermission ceremony at Saturday's hockey game against the Utah Grizzlies, at Qwest Arena, Boise.

Mylymok, 36, a native of Ontario, Canada, played for the Steelheads from 2000-2006, skated for the McCall Mountaineers and then joined the Sun Valley Suns hockey team for the 2007-08 winter season.

He was the sixth-leading scorer for the Suns last season with 6 goals and 13 assists for 19 points in just nine games.

As captain of the Steelheads' 2004 Kelly Cup Championship Team, Mylymok led the team in its first season of play in the ECHL, a Premier "AA" league that feeds players into the American Hockey League. The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars.

In Steelheads all-time annals, the popular blueliner ranks second overall in Idaho games played at 330 (behind Scott Burt at 403) and second in penalty minutes at 894 (behind Lance Galbraith at 1,071). He is tied for fourth in assists at 127, and is sixth in points at 173.

Steelheads President Eric Trapp said, "When you think about Steelheads players who have had an impact on our community, Jeremy Mylymok is at the top of that list. He continues to support the Steelheads and local youth hockey efforts. He and his family will always be welcome members of the Idaho Steelheads family."

Mylymok, an avid snowboarder who enjoys time on Sun Valley's slopes, currently serves as Idaho IceWorld's hockey director. He has served as hockey director of the Boise Youth Hockey Association Junior Steelheads program.

After playing juniors in Saskatchewan, Mylymok added 133 college hockey games to his resume from 1992-96 at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Mylymok, an 11-year pro, was voted to represent the Steelheads at the West Coast Hockey League's 2001 All-Star Game. As the Steelheads celebrated their 10-year tenure during the 2006-07 season, Mylymok was picked to be one of two defensemen on the All-Decade Team, voted on by fans, alumni, coaches and media.

Cal Ingraham is the only other Steelheads player to have his jersey number retired. Ingraham played with Idaho from 1998-2002 and still holds team records for most points at 381. Mylymok's retired jersey banner will hang next to Ingraham's #22 at Qwest Arena. The two also skated together for McCall's Mountaineers.

In addition, Steelheads players will wear #4 stickers on their helmets Saturday in honor of Mylymok. Photos of Mylymok will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans through the doors on Saturday night.

Tickets are available online or at the Qwest Arena Box Office. Visit the team's Web site at idahosteelheads.com.
