Green is good


The Community School eighth grade served a “Green Feast” for its end-of-the-unit final exam on Thursday, Oct. 23. From left, Ellie Swanson, Timo Gould, Ben Kanellitsas and Adam Vorsteveld serve green salads from local organic farmers to (from left) Lon Stickney, Galan Hanselman and Judy Hanselman. The class learned about what it means to eat local and sustainable and created a three-course meal for parents and friends. The meal included scalloped Idaho potatoes, roasted vegetables, grilled sausage and, for dessert, pumpkin pie, apple pie and apple crisp. Express photo by Sabina Dana Plasse
