Ketchum Olympian Honored in Colorado

Colorado Ski Hall of Famer

It was a fun night for the Ferries family when two-time Olympian Chuck Ferries, 69, of Ketchum was inducted with four others into the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. The black tie ceremony was held Saturday night at Denver (Colo.) Marriott City Center. A member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic Ski team at Squaw Valley and the 1964 Olympic team at Innsbruck, alpine ski racer Ferries remains the only American to win the Hahnenkamm slalom at Kitzbuehel, Aust. Inducted into the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame in 1989, the native of Michigan served as president of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association from 2002-2006. He was also the president of Scott USA. Here in Denver on Saturday Ferries poses by the story board heralding his accomplishments with photographs, letters and, of course, old-fashioned skis.
