I am returning to Florida Tuesday after our 15th summer in the valley and I can truthfully say, like always, it has been magical, with one perennial exception, which is having Pat Murphy express his vitriol and small-mindedness in your newspaper regularly.
What prompted me to write is the article in the Idaho Statesman today about Render Crayton, who was imprisoned with John McCain in Vietnam. In a controlled and measured way, Crayton describes John McCain in a praiseworthy fashion and someone he would be comfortable with as our commander-in-chief—this from a real man, hero and patriot.
What a contrast from the poison spewing from Pat Murphy's mind. The snideness and shallowness Pat Murphy persistently demonstrates by his toxic bias is condemning to your newspaper. It is the over-the-top bias displayed by Pat Murphy that reinforces the low opinion in this country of the print media. Couldn't you find it in your heart to get rid of Murphy's article before next summer? Please!
