They Walked In Her Shoes

Express photo by Willy Cook
More than 60 people gathered on Saturday, Oct. 4 to ‘Walk the Walk’ in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month with the Advocates for Survivors of Domestic Violence. The event was organized by Darrel Harris of the Advocates, with help by Piper Andrews, for her Wood River High School senior project. The event supplied snacks, buttons, posters and high heels to anyone who wanted them, including several daring men and children, such as these three activists. The idea was for men to feel what it’s like to “walk in her shoes.” Speakers included Jeff Matsushita, from the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence and Hailey Police Lieut. Steve England, an Advocates board member.
