On a lovely autumn Thursday afternoon, Oct. 2, I was peacefully riding my horse at a walk down the south end of Wall Street, in Gimlet. Suddenly, a man who resides on Wall Street stopped next to me on the road and verbally accosted me, screaming and shouting that "horses are not allowed in Gimlet" (not true) and to leave immediately.
He proceeded also to recklessly and physically endanger me by attempting to frighten my horse, revving his engine loudly, lurching forward and slamming on his brakes. Sensing he was over-the-top aggressive, I turned away from him, attempting to end the confrontation. Luckily, my horse is 20 years old and doesn't spook easily. I continued on, shaken and outraged that a person so rude and angry not only lives in our neighborhood, but has the unmitigated gall to endanger and confront someone in such a violent manner, and subsequently destroy an otherwise idyllic day.
How sad.
