WR Juniors: Posted a resounding 32-6 win over Commercial Tire from Kuna to improve to 3-2 on the season.

The Wolverines used a rugged ground game and hard-hitting defense to control the game. It was a complete team effort with many highlights and positive contributions.

Zach Swanson and Austin Savaria sparked the ground attack with speed and power. Tristan Kulhanek had a complete game, registering an interception on defense and a touchdown on offense. Cody Carter scored the first touchdown of his career on an exciting reverse play.

Dustin  Morgan played solid dependable minutes at the safety position. Omar Salamanca and Junior Solis did a great job of backing up Jackson Toothman at nose guard. River Kelly handled kickoff duties with booming kicks. Ryan Kotiga made plays at running back and defensive tackle. Corban Johnson showed speed and agility at wingback and cornerback.

With two games left in the season, Wood River will look to finish the 2008 campaign strong. The Wolverines play Berryhill of Boise Saturday at Wood River Middle School.

WR Freshman White: Won 12-6 over P.O.S. Warriors.

WR Freshman White (3-2) defeated the Warriors in one of the most exciting games of the season. WR White team brought its "A" game with solid running, tackling and blocking.

Making notable defensive plays to contain runners and break double-team blocks was Kyle Nelson. Logan Smith was on fire taking out the legs of numerous runners and providing a dazzling runback. Sean Davitt played his best game yet. So did Cade Street, Matt Galgano and Elliot Portillo and Evan Hesselbacher. Cade Schott led the offense as quarterback and ran for many yards with QB sneaks.

Scoring touchdowns were Tor Dalzell and Evan Hesselbacher.

Without exception, every player gave it their all. Even a referee was overheard saying, "This is the best  kids' football game I've ever seen!"

WR Freshman Green: Won 34-6 over Access Living.

WR Freshman Green (1-4) got behind early 6-0 but came back well. Travis Swanson was quick to answer back with a touchdown for a 6-6 tie. Bodie Bennett did some great blocking and got the ball for WR Green on the Bulldogs' fourth-down punt. Beginning in the second quarter Owen Gifford took the ball in for a second WR TD.

Freshman Green defensive player Hans Heaphy tackled the Bulldogs' ball carrier, who fumbled it over to WR. Jubal Toothman powered the ball up the center to the Bulldogs' 12-yard line. With 35 seconds left Toothman again took the ball downfield, this time for a touchdown. A tackle by Frederick Grathwohl (#70) stopped the Bulldogs and kept WR leading at half.

Early in the second half Owen Gifford scored another TD. They kept working hard and extended the lead in the final minutes of the game. An excellent pass by Bodie Bennett to Chayton Castle put the ball at the 10-yard line. Green couldn't punch it in and the ball went over to the 'Dogs, who promptly fumbled again at the 8-yard-line. Owen Gifford pushed through the crowd to score another TD, making the final score 34-6.
