Dorothy Jean Bowers Davis was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Kennewick, Wash., to Henry Harrison and Mary Margaret Bowers. She had nine stepbrothers and sisters, brothers Bobby and Glen and her sister, June, all of whom preceded her in death.
On Dec. 14, 1935, she married Vern R. Davis in Hailey. They had six children, June (Conrad Schlunegger), Shirley (Jim Savaria), Betty (Gary Marcroft), Ron (Ellie) Davis, Patricia (Mike Beck) and Robert (Donna) Davis. She had 32 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She lived in Washington, California, Oregon and Idaho. At the time she was married, she lived in Gannett, Idaho, where she went to school and was on the basketball team. In 1960, she and Vern moved to Shirley Basin, Wyo., and in 1966 they moved to Riverton, Wyo., where she lived until returning to Hailey.
In Riverton she worked at the elementary schools and the Riverton Hospital as a cook. She loved gardening and raised beautiful flowers and was a member and later president of the local quilting club.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, her daughter Patricia, son Robert, grandson Tony and granddaughter Khara.
Graveside services will be held Oct. 10 at the Mt. View Cemetery in Riverton, Wyo.
