The Wood River High School girls' swimming team stayed hot Saturday in Ketchum, and four senior girls were recognized for four years of contributions to the Wood River's state championship program.

Seniors contributing to three WRHS state championship teams were Megan Hayes, Racheal McGinnis, Ashleigh Share and Esther Williams.

They helped the Wood River girls (178 points) to first place in Saturday's final home meet over runner-up Twin Falls (84). Rounding out the field were kids from Century of Pocatello, Minico of Rupert, Pocatello, Marsh Valley of Arimo and Highland of Pocatello.

It was Wood River's fifth consecutive meet victory.

Winning individual golds for the girls were McGinnis (50 and 500 free) and Hayes (100 fly and 100 back). The girls had three relay golds in the 200 medley (Hayes, Elizabeth Fry, McGinnis, Tory Emerick), 200 free (Share, Reta Flynt, McGinnis, Williams) and 400 free (Hayes, Williams, Share, Emerick).

Those with individual golds for the WRHS boys were JT Sutton (100 and 200 free), Sean Sutton (200 IM) and Jon Atkinson (50 and 500 free). Relay winners were 200 medley (Sean Sutton, Matt Lichtenberg, Atkinson, Adam Potts) and 400 free (JT Sutton, Sean Sutton, Potts, Atkinson).

Looking back, the Wood River girls continued their win streak Sept. 27 at the Pocatello Invitational held in the Reed Gym pool at Idaho State University. And the Wood River boys, five of them, were second.

At Pocatello Atkinson and McGinnis each snagged wins in 50 and 100 free events. Joining them at the top of the podium were Michael Coiner (200 free) and Hayes (100 back).

Wood River's boys' 200 medley and 400 free relays won gold, while the girls' 200 free relay was first and 400 free relay placed in second at Pokey. Best place finishes were:
