Police investigate beating in Ketchum

By EXPRESS STAFF

Ketchum police continue to investigate the beating of a Sun Valley man last week at the Lift Tower Lodge in south Ketchum.

"He was hurt badly," Police Chief Cory Lyman said.

The incident occurred on Friday, Sept. 26, at about 5 a.m. in the parking lot of the hotel.

Police spokeswoman Kim Rogers identified the victim as 36-year-old Brenden Kelly, who was treated for injuries at St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center and later released.

Police have declined to name a suspect. The assailant fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.

"Until we actually have predication to call someone a suspect then we don't do so," Lyman said. "We're just not that far along to identify a suspect.

"We do have promising leads and we're following up on them."
